Minneapolis resident Joe Coleman got the first one-on-one date with Michelle. “I feel really excited, especially since we’re both in the city we grew up in,” Joe said. “It’s a beautiful day with a beautiful girl… who could ask for anything more?” Michelle took Joe to a Twins baseball game and to her high school, where they looked at her old yearbook and played some one-on-one basketball. Joe opened up during the evening portion of the date about how an injury ended his basketball career and he had to find himself again. Joe got a rose at the end of the date.

The group date was held at the U.S. Bank Stadium, where the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings play. The men learned to be like vikings (not football players, but like, medieval warriors) and Chris Sutton rubbed plenty of his fellow contestants the wrong way. The men had to eat some pretty intense foods, include fermented herring and viking head hash, before competing in an arm wrestling contest. At the end, Clayton Echard, a.k.a. the next Bachelor star, was crowned “the ultimate viking.” Clayton got the group date rose at the end.

Nayte Olukoya got the second one-on-one with Michelle. “I just want to dive into a little more about Michelle,” he said the night before. They went boating with two of Michelle’s good friends, where he got grilled about his intentions. During the evening portion of the date, Michelle and Nayte opened up about past relationships. Michelle shared how she became really sick during a three-year relationship, only to discover that her symptoms were due to anxiety caused by her not-great boyfriend. To everyone’s shock, Chris S. crashed the date—a bold move that Nayte and Michelle clearly weren’t impressed by. “Ultimately, I do feel like we’re not on the same page,” Michelle told Chris before sending him packing. Nayte got the rose at the end. “I do feel that I am starting to fall for Nayte,” Michelle said in an interview afterward.
