In last week’s episode we learned Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) might finally start a family of their own and Lucas (ChrisMcNally) was freed from jail while Fiona (Kayla Wallace) tried to welcome Jerome Smith (Dean Paul Gibson) and Arthur Gilchrist (Matthew James Dowden) to Hope Valley and steer them away from the mines and toward the foundry. By the end of the episode, Henry reluctantly took on the job of managing the mines in hopes that he could ensure that every safety measure is taken this time around so that history doesn’t repeat itself. Tensions rose once Florence (Loretta Walsh) and Molly (Johannah Newmarch) learned of his continued involvement in the mines. In this week’s episode, the reopening of the mines is imminent, but not if Henry can help it. Florence, both anxious and angry over the mines tries to channel her energy into a hobby at Ned’s (Hrothgar Matthews) advice while Molly continues to worry about Bill’s (Jack Wagner) health. Later, the oft misunderstood Henry decides to take drastic measures to make sure the mines stay closed. Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Lucas struggle to communicate with each other so Lucas heads out of town to clear his head.
