One of the biggest viral TikTok recipe trends right now is Ramen Lasagna. It’s been around for a bit, but it’s now having another resurgence. It uses par-cooked ramen noodles instead flat pasta lasagna noodles in the stacking of the casserole, and the results seem to be wowing TikTok fans around the world. Ramen is clearly a TikTok favorite ingredient, and we’re guessing that we’ll continue to see a lot of ramen iterations in the months to come.
How to Make Ramen Lasagna
It works because the noodles found in a ramen packet are par-cooked, which mean cooked first, and then dried. So once they are heated and the sauce and cheese have a chance to meld with them, they soften quickly. They also add that nice umami-ish flavor that ramen noodles have, even without the flavorings. Because you toss the seasoning packet (which is really filled with salt and other not-so-appetizing things), it doesn’t matter what flavor ramen you use; you’re just using the noodle part.
