Here’s everything you need to know about “The Cookout”:
What is “The Cookout” alliance on Big Brother 23?
The Cookout was an alliance formed between the six Black players in the Big Brother 23 house. Though the group formed initially with the intention of looking out for each other in the game, at one point it coalesced into ideally making the final six together. Who started “The Cookout” alliance on Big Brother 23?
That’s a question very much up for debate! Many people in the Cookout claimed they were the ones to start the powerhouse alliance. Here’s what Tiffany had to say in our interview with her after the finale about the question: “We all walked in that door and saw five other individuals relative to ourselves. We decided unanimously and unspokenly that we would not target one another. Big D did make it a point to go around to each of us and say to us, ‘Hey, listen, we’re all working together. We’re going to make sure we all work together to get to the end.’ He kind of formalized it, but it was something that we all collectively knew we would not do. We would not go against each other. Xavier did put the name on it of the Cookout; then, I came up with the master plan. So essentially, we all had a role in the Cookout to get to where we got to. But of course, men with egos love to take credit. So you know they’ll all say, ‘I did this.’”
What was “The Cookout”’s master plan on Big Brother 23?
The “master plan” that led to the Cookout’s success was concocted by Tiffany. It involved each Cookout member having a “plus one” in the game, someone they worked closest with who was not in the alliance. If anyone won Head of Household, they would target a pair, most likely a Cookout member and their partner. No matter how the competitions went, the Cookout would have the numbers to keep any of their members safe come eviction night.
