While touring the grounds of the Silos, Joanna said, “We decided to name Chip’s shop No. 16. It’s his favorite number. Anything we get of his now, his undies, his white T-shirts, we put No. 16 in it. It’s a thing.” It’s also the number that the Magnolia cofounders’ kids have on their jerseys. “It’s a family number,” Joanna explained. “You’ve even inherited it a little bit,” Chip told his wife. “I always say, when he dies, I’ll get ‘1, 6’ right there [on her inner wrist],” Joanna shared, to which Chip replied, “Aw, that’s sweet.” Well, it’s either going to be the number 16 or “a squirrel” tattoo, Joanna admitted. Breaking New Ground: Expanding the Silos, now streaming on discovery+, follows the Fixer Upper: Welcome Home stars as they expand the footprint of the Silos in Waco, Texas with new shops, a Wiffle ball field and the relocation of a historic church. “In the construction business, you dream of an opportunity like this and to have been a part of this project here in Waco, Texas was really quite an honor. I had a dream that I couldn’t imagine being possible and I would say that somehow this dream exceeded my expectations. Expanding the footprint of the Silos, it’s amazing,” the No Pain, No Gaines author said in the special. Chip added, “We like to dream big and we love the fact that we get to do some of these challenges together.” And the TV stars aren’t done with projects at the Silos just yet! Joanna teased, “The next project is the Silos themselves, and then I promise we’re done!” Chip and Joanna will be launching their full slate of Magnolia originals on discovery+ and their new Magnolia app July 15. Meanwhile, the pair’s cable channel will launch in January 2022. In the meantime, here is everything we know about Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Network!
