Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams stepped into Harrison’s shoes and served as mentors to Katie Thurston during her journey to find love on the newest season of The Bachelorette. Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment confirmed in March that Harrison would not host the next season. “We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season,” they said in a joint statement. The statement continued, “As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within The Bachelor franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks. These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”
Will Chris Harrison ever return to the Bachelor franchise?
While Harrison is out this season, the longtime host intends to eventually return to the franchise. “I plan to be back and I want to be back,” the TV star told Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan in March. “This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done and I am excited to be a part of that change.”

Harrison congratulated Adams after she and Bristowe were named as cohosts for Season 17. Per UsWeekly, Adams said on her Instagram Story, “The fact that I talked to Chris the other day and he was so kind and congratulated me for being a part of the next season meant the absolute world. With that being said, y’all, let’s freakin’ go.”
How did the new hosts film Season 17 of The Bachelorette?
According to Adams, she and Kaitlyn “created this really fun dynamic duo that has never been done before with The Bachelorette.” She told Entertainment Tonight, “I feel like it really provided strength behind Katie, and confidence as well, because when you’re in that situation, sometimes you don’t know what to do. We were able to provide a little clarity and comfort for her.” Bristowe confessed on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that she would have liked to have had the same support system back when she was the one handing out the roses. The former Bachelorette star said (via PEOPLE), “One thing we kept saying is, ‘My gosh, it would have been so nice to have this when we were the Bachelorette, to have women who have been in our shoes before come in and be there.’ If it’s just a shoulder to cry on, if it’s you need advice, if you’re feeling alone in it or if you’re feeling like you can’t do it, which we all feel at a certain point.”
Who will host After the Final Rose?
Emmanuel Acho filled in for Harrison as the host of Matt James’ After the Final Rose special in 2021, and it seems he would be game to do it again. Acho said on The View that he “absolutely would be open to hosting The Bachelor.” It remains to be seen whether Acho or this season’s female cohosts will host the post-finale special.
